But after I gave my life to Christ two years into my marriage, God purposefully equipped me with genuine biblical resources. The decisions we make, the activities and emotions we engage in, where we find our value - not to mention our relationship with Jesus. So the question is: where is your identity rooted? Is it truly in Christ? Or are you seeking your identity - and thus your value - from people and things of the world? (Maybe without even realizing it because, let's be real, the world constantly tells us women that our value should come from a billion other things than Jesus.)

Hard Truth: Survivor mode and a thriving relationship with Jesus cannot co-exist. Why? Because survivor mode is a short-term, fear-based way of thinking. Sure, it's a common mode to form when we've lived through abusive relationships; starting over from square one; dire financial hardship; or any other experience where the bottom seemingly fell out from under us. But we want to move closer to Jesus. We want to be empowered by Jesus. And our identity *is* in Jesus. Which means that, ultimately, a survivor mode has no place in our relationship with Jesus. In today's episode, I’m going to cover 3 major ways our survivor mode negatively impacts our relationship with Jesus - and how we change that moving forward.

Having had both an abusive father and ex-husband, understanding God's love was a journey for me. And one of the major ways that God has shown me His love is through my prayer time. Truth: how we value ourselves individually as women is directly related to our effectiveness as Daughters of the King. (Not to mention our well-being.) After all, we cannot impart value if we do not believe we are valuable. In Episode #11, I shared the Biblical truth of how Satan has a special hatred for women. Looking at history and the all ways in which women have been limited and mistreated, that may seem like an obvious statement. Or maybe it doesn't - because how many of us have heard this concept before? Probably not many. I hadn't heard it until just recently. And what I learned was so profound to my identity as a woman, I had to share it will all of you - my sisters in Christ.
In today's episode, I'm going to explain why the Enemy has it out for women so diabolically. Plus, I'll share why this actually frees you from blaming yourself for the bad things that have happened to you - and for believing that you aren't enough. Ladies, the struggle to fit in is a real one. Am I right? There's the pressure and expectations from other people, and the culture at large, to look a certain way, act a certain way, and keep within certain predefined systems. (Not to mention the ones we place on ourselves.) But the only expectations we should be worrying about are those from God. In fact, focusing on all these other things can actually distract us from what God has in store for us - and the impact we yearn to make.
As it happens, Jesus dealt with this exact same issue during His time on Earth. So in this episode, ladies, we're going to examine Jesus's life and break down why not fitting in can actually be a really awesome thing.

Yet unfortunately, the interpretation a lot of us have heard is not Biblically accurate. In addition, it's also usually tied to the Church's overall message that a woman's purpose is to serve.
